Over the past year I have done extensive work on my BMW and now I have decided to let it go. Below is a list of that I have done personally and what the previous owner had done at the dealership.
1. Replaced the 2001 engine with a 2004 320i M54 block with 115,000 kms (funny side note, the new engine had 500 kms difference from the odometer)
2. All four rotors with ceramic pads and brake wear sensors
3. Both rear wheel sensors
4. Rear coils and shocks
5. Replaced ABS module with a Refurbished unit from Germany
6. Rear right window regulator (in the picture, the masking tape is holding up the window, its all done now), and lubricated the other windows with silicone spray
7. Blower motor resistor final stage
1. New Firestone 195/65R15s - Mar 2015, with wheel alignment
2. Replace clutch, Feb 2015
3. Passenger side airbag with replaced by the dealership under warranty
4. Water pump and thermostat, April 2015
5. New spark plugs, May 2015
6. New battery, no receipt, date unknown
7. Replaced the instrument cluster, no receipt, date unknown
I'm also going to throw in the aftermarket heads up display, it projects the speed and rpm up on the window (really neat at night)
Now for the last remaining issue that I've finally got figured out, when the previous owner replaced the instrument cluster, it was from a 2005 with a different set of coding. So, its not in agreement with the ABS module and this is causing what's well known in BMW circles as the "Trifecta" - Traction, Brake and ABS light on all the time.
The lights don't have the slightest effect on driving experience, which is glass smooth and fast.
