We are selling our silver Toyota Rav4. She has been with us since November 2012. Prior to that she was 'born' in Newfoundland, and was driven across Canada by her original owners.
She has been a wonderful car for us. She comes with snow tires (seen one season - and by season I mean 3 return trips between Tofino and Port Alberni) as well as summer tires, both sets complete with rims.
We have all the paperwork and maintenance history all the way back to Newfoundland.
The front passenger tire well has some rust (as shown in the photos), and has been like that since we brought her. The back shocks need replacing at some point, but she runs great still and has given us zero trouble.
Issues brought up by the mechanic last week (March 14th)
- both back springs rusted through and broken
- front right brake seized
- Front passenger floor rotten ( he had it on the hoist and showed me how he could push his finger through the metal)
- both back ball bearings rusted through
- alternator attachment cracked
The check engine light came on in spring, and we had a car computer check it out. The codes indicated a right O2 sensor replacement, which we had taken care of at the garage. The codes were cleared, and upon leaving the shop after 10km, the light came on again. We got it checked at the garage, and they got the same code coming up again. Not sure what it is, but we are not interested in digging further and spending more money at the garage.
Thanks for looking, and please feel free to email me with any questions. She is parked up in Nanaimo, and must go to a home within 2 weeks !
