We are currently hiring for the position of Sous Chef for our busy establishment in the town of Tofino!
The successful candidate will possess a wealth of kitchen experience with a minimum 3-5 years in a Chef / Sous Chef position.
We are looking for an individual who is looking to remain in Tofino year-round and can offer us a long-term commitment.

As Sous Chef you will plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities. You will personally prepare and cook meals and specialty foods. This position is considered entry level Management. The position demands 10% of your time in the office and 90% of your time in the kitchen. The ability to work long hours with a positive attitude and be willing to lead by example are vital.
Supervise activities of all kitchen staff
Manage & work the line on a daily basis
Performance management of staff including discipline
Involvement in menu and product research and development
Ensures appropriate health and safety standards, s
Monitors apprenticeship development
May have involvement in formulation of job descriptions
Equipment performance monitoring, may demonstrate use of new equipment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
A Secondary School Diploma
Red Seal Certification
Ability to consistency produce a high quality dish
Minimum 3 years experience in a Chef / Sous Chef position
Proficient with labour law
Proficient with health and safety rules and regulations
Ability to coach and mentor other staff
Excellent communication skills
Ability to deal with high pressure environments
Good decision making skills
