Job Title: Chemist Location: Parksville, Vancouver Island, British Columbia About The Company: Blue Coast Research Ltd (BCR) is a growing metallurgical testwork laboratory located in Parksville, British Columbia. Formed in early 2011, BCR is focussed on providing quality metallurgical testwork data and interpretation to the global minerals industry. Our business is geared towards precious and base metals mineral processing testwork with particular focus on froth flotation, leaching, physical separation and sample preparation. About The Position: BCR is seeking a Chemist to join our growing testwork laboratory team. The successful candidate will be required to oversee the analytical laboratories at BCR. The candidate will be a visible Health and Safety leader. They will be experienced in a variety of analytical techniques and lead the development of new analytical procedures. Additionally the successful candidate will be required to maintain BCR's QA/QC program and ensure that all analyses are conducted to the highest standard. The successful candidate will display a passion for their craft and will facilitate training as necessary to advance the skillset of all the members of the laboratory team. Required Education and Experience: * Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Chemistry or a closely related field required. * Minimum of 5 years of experience in an analytical environment required. * Experience with AA and ICP-OES techniques, maintenance and troubleshooting required. * Experience with fire assay and carbon-sulphur analysis techniques preferred. * Knowledge and experience with various wet chemistry practices including titrations, acid digestions, fusion methods etc. required. * Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.) * Strong written and oral communication skills.
