Thrive Landscapes Ltd is seeking energetic, fit individuals to join our team. Position(s): This is a full-time/part-time position working up to forty hours per week within the Garden & Tree Care division of Thrive Landscapes Ltd. Thrive operates from Qualicum Beach to Parksville & all places in between. Position Description: Working under direct supervision, the chosen applicant will be responsible for assisting their Garden Care Team Leader in the care of Hedges, ornamental trees, shrubs and garden beds of our valued clients. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Adhering to proper uniform standards * Arriving at work on time and ready and prepared to work * Demonstrating a positive disposition * General care for Trees & Hedges, Shrubs, Garden Beds and Lawns * Operate equipment such as power shears, lawn mower, leaf blower, general hand tools & comfortable working on ladders * Prepare and maintain up to date work records * Willing to participate in other work operations as required Qualifications: * Graduate or Current Students of VIU's Landscape Horticulturist - Technician Foundation Program * Experience with tree pruning and hedge trimming - Special considerations for those possessing an Arborist Certificate * A willingness to learn new skills and develop your abilities * Experience gardening is an asset You will possess the following: * Ability to operate tools and equipment necessary to complete day to day tasks * Proven planning, problem solving organizational and interpersonal skills * Must be medically and physically fit to perform all job tasks * Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing * Valid BC Cass 5 Drivers License is required * Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions Salary Range: * Starting Pay $20.00 - $23/hour In addition to the rate of pay, we offer other attractive incentives: * Excellent training and development opportunities * Apprenticeship opportunities for those registered through ITA * Clothing and Boot Allowances For more details, please send an email to jacob@thrivelandscaping.ca and tell us about yourself and please include a current resume.
