NANAIMO LAUNCHES BC’s SMALL BUSINESS MONTH

Fall brings us Small Business Month in BC, recognizing the important contributions entrepreneurs make to our local economy. Small businesses are the life blood of our economy representing 98% of all businesses licensed in B.C. and employing over 1 million. The Nanaimo Chamber celebrates Small Business Month with the twelfth annual Business Expo at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre on October 3, 2019. More than 100 exhibitors representing Island businesses including government agencies and NGOs offering support to small business will be on hand at the Island's largest business trade show. This year, the Nanaimo Chamber is adding the first Vancouver Island Export Forum, in partnership with the Young Professionals of Nanaimo, as an added attraction to Expo. Panels, speakers, specialists and experts from government and the private sector will lead presentations on exporting from Vancouver Island - whether it's across the Strait or to foreign shores. If you aren't exporting, perhaps you're serving a business that is somewhere in your supply/client chain? Business Expo began as a way for Nanaimo businesses to network and show off their products and services to each other. Consumers soon discovered it a great source for new, breaking products and services. Today, there are draws and prizes galore to add to the attractions for both business-to-business & consumers!
