Now in its 50th year of service and support to Nanaimo & region youth, you can learn more about NYSA and its upcoming specialised training in the "Culinary Arts & Trades". Chef Juhli Shauer returns as our popular chef trainer for this free skills enhancement program. This 22-week full-time free training with a paid wage, offered through the "Employment KEEP IT!" (EKI) program of NYSA, leads to regular paid employment. The training pays at BC Minimum Wage of $13.85 per hour. All $915 in certifications and $380 in chef supplies offered through the program are provided free of charge by NYSA. The Government of Canada has contributed funding to this initiative.
