Shipper

Key Responsibilities * Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers * Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities * Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments * Determine space requirements and position of shipment on trucks * Determine routing and legal load limits of trucks * Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications * Inspect material handling equipment for defects and notify maintenance personnel or outside service facility for repair * Maintain vehicle maintenance reports * Direct movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas * Compiles records of unfilled orders * Prepare bills of lading * Ensure the shipping office and workspace are clean and organized at all times * Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures * Other duties as assigned by management Skills and Qualifications * Valid forklift certification (propane) * Minimum two years of experience * Broad knowledge of building supplies and home improvement products * Competent with Microsoft Office Suite * Effective communication skills and ability to read and speak English * Ability to problem solve, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments * Physical requirements include: o Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs o Sitting, driving and standing for long periods of time o Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight * A positive can do attitude is essential!
