My name is Emerald and I am a third year UBC Environmental Science student. I am taking this year off from my studies and would love to make myself available to families perhaps needing a little extra educational assistance while navigating this unprecedented year. This includes, but is not limited to, those who have chosen to homeschool for the first time, those continuing with homeschool education, those attending public school full time, part time, or any combination of the above. My credentials include: - Being homeschooled through elementary, middle, and into high school. - Experience working with children doing distance education. - 5 years of youth soccer coaching. - 2 years of science summer camp leadership. - 4.0 high school GPA and completion of nearly all high school science and math courses, including Calculus 12. - Recipient of the UBCO Centennial Scholars Award. - 86% GPA at the University level (copy of unofficial transcript available upon request). Details: - I charge $22/hour. Family/multiple children discounts apply. - I am based out of Cedar and am able to travel between Duncan and Nanaimo. - Appropriate Covid-19 protocols apply. These will be evaluated on an individual basis to ensure everyone feels safe. - I am available for tutoring in all subjects from K-8 and some high school math and sciences.
