Apple charges $250.00 to upgrade a new 2019 27" iMac from 8GB to 16GB The type of memory is: 2019 (27", 5K) 2666 MHz PC4-21300 DDR4 SO-DIMM 4 slots Apple installs 2 of 4GB chips in 2 of the 4 available slots. Buy these 2 of 4GB chips to double your RAM and performance. I do graphic design in Adobe products and had to upgrade mine with 2 of 16GB for a total of 32GB RAM. You can buy cheaper ram chips for close to this price but apple computers are fussy and some cheaper ram chips do not work and are not recommended by apple. There are dozens of youtube video's showing how to install these chips in the small iMac back door behind the stand in 2 minutes. $50 firm Rick Hubka (From Chemainus)
