$1,300 · stuck in hotels since january

We were victims of a bizarre rental scam January 2019. We rented a 2 bedroom suite signed a "rental agreement" not a proper tenancy branch one payed our rent and damage to a lovely couple who said they owned the house and lived upstairs but we're going on vacation right away. All was quiet and good for 2 weeks then the REAL home owners come home . What happened to us was a previous tenant knew the owners were away and still had their key for the door they took over $2000 from us used fake names and we were left homeless .. the actual owners were nice enough to allow us 2 weeks to vacate but already had set up tenants to move in prior to us getting scammed . We have been staying at hotels while constantly looking for a suitable permanent residence SINCE the end of January, we are exhausted with the cost of hotels and constant jumping around to different cheaper ones that come up. Even more so now that we found out I am 3 months pregnant .. we have no pets we don't do drugs we are very tidy and quite my fiancé has steady work in a management position I am about to start schooling for dental assistant we just NEED a place to live that's in a safe clean area $1300 max is our budget Anywhere from Victoria to nanaimo
