Companion Caregiver - Home Aide

Hello, I am a semi-retired lady seeking part-time work as a companion caregiver. If you or someone you know is seeking compassionate care, enjoyable company or some help with household chores, just let me know. Must be a NON SMOKING household. I am a happy, positive individual with a strong work ethic, kind and considerate of others. As a senior myself, I have a special consideration for the feelings and dignity of the elderly, so I treat others and their belongings with respect. I feel that it is really important that a person remain in their own familiar surroundings for as long as possible. What I can do for you is household tasks (maintaining a clean and orderly home), getting groceries and prescriptions, preparing tasty meals and snacks, vacuuming, laundry, basic gardening, encouraging gentle exercise based on ability, monitoring changes and communicating with family. I have experience with diabetes (monitoring blood glucose and insulins). I was instrumental in caring for my mother before, during and after her cancer diagnosis and treatment. I have been a volunteer for several agencies including the Canadian Red Cross medical equipment loans where I learned sanitizing, assembly and adjusting of loaned equipment for each client. My First Aid/CPR/AED certification is current, as well as Foodsafe and a Criminal Records check (vulnerable sector) which I will provide. My rate is $18 - $25/hr. depending on personal care requirements. Alternately, I would consider a live-in position full-time. I am available immediately.
