"The Fisher 202 Futura" AM/FM Receiver This vintage Fisher receiver has been fully and professionally restored in 2025 including: Replacement of all electrolytic capacitors on every board, cleaning of all controls, substitution of noisy and unreliable transistors with superior modern equivalents, calibration as per official service manual, upgraded dial lighting, etc. It is now in perfect operating condition and is ready for decades more of reliable musical performance! This is an astonishingly musical-sounding receiver with an excellent phono stage. It may not be as powerful or feature-laden as some vintage receivers, but it makes up for this in sheer listenability. Is is really a pleasure to hear, with a warm and vivid sound exceeding expectations for its size. I hear a lot of different amplifiers on a regular basis, and I can personally recommend this one! Model 202 was part of the last generation of Fisher products to be designed and overseen by the founder of the company, and his style is evident in the sound and aesthetics of this unit. It was manufactured in Japan by Hitachi to Fisher's specifications. Shortly afterwards Fisher would sell out become a 'name only brand' owned and operated in the far east without the attention to detail and quality control which made Fisher a luxury Hi-Fi brand in the 1950s and 60s. Cosmetic condition is 'excellent, used': Extraordinarily clean inside and out with flawless vinyl veneer. There are a few very light scratches to the black painted metal grille on top, and some fumble scuffs near the headphone jack, but otherwise this receiver presents a 'like new' appearance! A five-minute listening session is worth a thousand words! This beautiful Fisher is ready to demo at your convenience!
