$50 · "Rigoletto" - sculpture of opera figure

This is a small (8" high) sculpture in clay of the character "Rigoletto" from Verdi's opera of the same name. This piece of original artwork is by The Cairn Studio, Davidson, North Carolina and displays a date of 1989. There's a story behind this piece. Back in the 1990's, I was in the business of supplying English language surtitles to professional opera companies all over North America. One of these companies, Opera Carolina, had rented surtitles from a company other than mine for their production of "Rigoletto" and had found the titles terrible. As they were already over budget for their production, they asked me if I could supply surtitles to them on a rush basis and at a discount. I did supply them and at no charge. In appreciation, Opera Carolina sent this little figure to me. I am now retired and living in Parksville, BC. When I was still active in professional opera, I operated under the name Aria Nuova Presentations and supplied surtitles for more than 500 productions to opera companies all over North America and -- once -- to a company in the U.K. As I am getting well on in years, I would like to find a home for Rigoletto. I would be open to offers and, of course, you are welcome to examine the piece. If you are in Victoria, I will be there on Friday February 9 but will only be available that morning as I have a funeral to attend in the afternoon.
