CSW's are a constant presence on the property; as such, they partner with patients through their entire journey at Cedars utilizing a patient centered, collaborative approach to care. ** Please note this posting is for the Over Night Shift (11:45pm to 8:45 am); other casual and on call shifts may be available. Priority will be given to candidates who demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work nights and weekends.** Nestled in 65 acres of wilderness in the picturesque Cowichan Valley, Cedars strives to provide high quality care to 75 residents on their first steps in healing from substance use and mental health. Over the course of the last 15 years Cedars has been a leader in addiction treatment and an integral part of the recovery community in British Columbia and the launching pad for thousands of personal success stories with the Community Support team beside each patient - every step of the way. Successful applicants will display a keen interest in recovery-oriented care, and be able to model a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Desirable qualities / skills include being able to demonstrate: Empathy Compassion Attention to detail Flexibility and multi-tasking ability Willingness to give and receive feedback Integrity An ability to work independently as well as part of a team A healthy and balanced personal life Lived experience in recovery from mental health issues, or substance use is not necessary but considered an asset. All journeys, pathways, and modalities of recovery considered - it is highly recommended any self identified "recovering" applicants are able to speak to 2 years substance free before joining the Cedars team in a patient facing capacity.. As Cedars is a 24/7 facility priority will be given to those able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
