Rusty (KGB Pretty Fancy on Command) is a 16.2hh, soon to be (April 16th) 18yr old (going on 4yrs) Registered American Dragon....I mean Saddlebred 🤣 He's sound, balanced, UTD on feet, teeth and worming. He's Barefoot and does well with a patient farrier and handler. He can sometimes jig his head but he stands nicely to get the job done. He's been trained to self load into a trailer and when regularly loaded he goes right in with no problems. If only trailered every now and again he may need some gentle help but over all travels very well. He has lots fancy buttons. He leg yields, side passes, spins (slow, not like a reiner) lead changes can ask or he's auto. He LOVED drill team but sadly since covid, our drill team has collapsed and he no longer has a job to do. Im not trained in any specific discipline and dont have a competitive streak but he would excell in a show environment. He loved opening for the VIEX and enjoyed all the attention. This guy doesn't have a mean bone in his body but he is A LOT of horse and I mean A LOT. He needs a VERY experienced rider to bring him along to his full potential (He would make an incredible dressage partner). He has all the heart in the world, he tries so so hard to make his person happy. He's a puppy dog on the ground, he adores any human that will give him attention and treats. He thrives with Natural Horsemanship, loves to learn tricks and has all the try in the world to give. He NEEDS a job. He's bored. He is NOT a trail horse. His anxiety can take him over the top out on the trails and he can be explosive. His reactions are HUGE. It's his normal but for people that can't sit a rear it can be very scary. This is something that I can explain in person. I am an open book. Rusty is very special and needs a very special person to bring out the best in him. I don't want this fella passed around. He's been through the ringer and deserves a life with a job. I'm in absolutely ZERO rush to sell him. I just don't have a job for him here on the island and he thrives in a work program as he's a super athlete. I'll just retire him to the field and ride him when I need a humbling challenge if I can't find him a work partner but I know his heart would be happiest working. Rusty is Alpha here in our herds pecking order and is generally an Alpha, he's not nasty but he does like to keep his herd moving and can be stud like when the mares are in season and present interest. If the mares are in season and they're quiet he couldn't care less. Again, something that could be discussed, he's currently living with two mares. Rusty likes to be able to keep his feet moving so he'll require turn out time or an everyday work program if in a small paddock situation. He does amazing with hotwire BUT he knows when its off....he aint no dummy. LOL. He's so quiet in his every day life, super easy keeper. Please, this is extremely hard for me so don't waste my time or yours. He is not a project, he's a ride style. If you're truly interested let's have a conversation, come and meet him. Located in Nanaimo, asking mid/low x,xxx.
