Registered Care Aide Needed in Nanaimo - Private

We are looking to hire a caregiver, primarily as night staff on an on-going basis, with the potential for casual/backup work. I am an adult with a physical disability (spinal muscular atrophy) and require assistance with essentially all physical tasks, and I direct my own care verbally. I am a bed bound individual. Specifically, at this time we are looking for somebody able to cover 1 or 2 night shifts, Friday and/or Saturday. The shifts are 12 hours, from 7 PM to 7 AM. Before you start there will need to be training shifts, which will be paid. Nighttime responsibilities will include toileting, assisted coughing, chest physio, positioning, setting up a BiPAP (assisted breathing machine), and some additional positioning, such as turning me on my side. During most of the evening I enjoy my own time on my computer. My night staff tend to bring their iPads/books/computer to occupy their time. Night pay is $22 an hour and you will be able to sleep for 5-6 hours. As long as you are able to wake up when I call out for assistance, sleeping is encouraged (a murphy bed for staff is set up in my living room).
