Learn to Kayak in the safe & protected waters of Mill Bay. No experience required. To keep you warm & toasty we provide you with a dry suit for no extra cost. This is a great way to have fun in outdoors while learning new skills with like minded folks. No experience required. This course is packed with skill based hands on learning, introducing the essential paddle techniques, rescue skills those must know theory subjects to keep you safe on the water. Our main goal is to share our passion for sea kayaking, and help prepare paddlers for their future adventures. Activities focus on safety and gaining the paddling and seamanship skills necessary for a day trip within a sheltered bay along a shoreline with easy landing opportunities. The "core" paddling strokes, wet exits and proven rescue techniques make up day one of this excellent course. On day two participants will have the opportunity to pack a kayak with gear necessary for a comfortable a day trip and take part in group trip planning, weather interpretation, navigation and risk assessment. A full resource pack, manual and joining instructions are available on registration. Price includes - Dry suit, Kayak, safety gear, Paddle Canada certification.
